Blockfest x Wulff Works
The challenge
The summer 2024 Blockfest required a massive number of employees—for different roles, tasks, and schedules. The festival’s HR producers, Titta and Satu, needed a partner capable of delivering both a high volume of workers and a sufficiently diverse range of skills.
Staff was needed for roles including:
- Ticket sales and inspection
- Cloakroom and customer service
- Construction and dismantling
- Logistics
- Technical tasks for streaming, stages, and auxiliary areas
Furthermore, the work pace was fast, requiring immediate reaction to potential issues without delays.
The solution
Wulff Works employed approximately 200 workers for Blockfest in the summer of 2024, assembling a comprehensive staff team for various duties. The core of the solution lay in both quantity and quality: Wulff Works was able to meet the festival’s changing skill requirements holistically, regardless of the experience background needed.
Titta and Satu specifically emphasize the value of having Wulff Works’ own contact persons present on-site. This brought two major benefits to the festival:
- Proactive Problem Solving: Issues were detected and prevented before they could arise.
- Efficiency: No time was wasted on unnecessary phone calls or intermediaries — decisions and arrangements were made directly in the field.
Client experiences and valued aspects of the cooperation
- High-Quality and Diverse Staff Selection: Wulff Works supplied talent for very different tasks, ranging from lighter customer service work to technical and physical roles.
- Fast Response and Comprehensive Support: The on-site Wulff Works staff ensured that problems did not escalate.
- Clear Communication: The HR producers felt that communication was direct, clear, and solution-oriented.
- Large Recruitment Capacity: Providing approximately 200 employees for a single event demonstrates Wulff Works’ ability to handle large-scale operations without compromising quality.
Results and benefits
- Blockfest secured the necessary workers for all roles, and tasks were resourced without delays.
- The on-site Wulff Works team enabled more efficient division of labor and faster reaction times.
- The festival’s operational workflow became smoother: HR resources remained under control, and shifts were executed as planned.
- The collaboration lightened the load on Blockfest’s own HR production team, freeing up time to focus on the overall quality of the event and the attendee experience.
