Job seekers

Job hunting can sometimes be challenging. Many jobs require qualifications that only a few meet and, whereas many job advertisements attract so many applications that getting employment seems impossible. A good reminder in your moments of despair; the person who got the job you wanted is also just an ordinary human being.

For the recruiter, finding and selecting the most suitable person for a job can also be challenging when applicants have different strengths or, for example, a very similar background. In these situations, even small things can improve your chances of standing out and finding the perfect job for you. Below you can find our top tips for the different phases of job hunting!

Stand out as a potential employee

  1. Make sure your CV is clear
The main purpose of a CV is to describe the relevant work experience and skills you already have for the job you are applying for. Therefore, quality matters more than quantity. Keep your CV clear, easy to read, and up to date. It’s especially important to list clearly where and when you’ve gained your experience or education. Under each item of experience or education, you should also add a description of your main responsibilities or area of specialisation.
It’s okay if your CV isn’t visually perfect! The most important thing is that it details your work experience and/or educational background. The importance of the visual aspect of your CV is highlighted if the job you are applying for requires skills such as working with visual software.
  2. Fine-tune your job application
Customise your job application (or your comment in the comment field) for the job you are applying for. Highlight why you would be a good fit and what you have to offer. Use clear examples of what you have achieved and how you have utilised your skills. It’s also a good idea to explain why you’re interested in this particular job.
  3. Stay active
Jobs get staffed quickly, so make sure to check vacancies regularly and apply for different jobs with a low threshold. Explain why you are interested in the job and show your interest to the recruiter. If you have a question about a job advertisement, call the recruiter to show that you are genuinely interested in the job.
  4. Prepare for the interview
Get to know the company and the job you are applying for. It shows you’re interested and helps you answer the interview questions better. Think in advance how you can answer some common interview questions and prepare to discuss your achievements and strengths. For example, you can ask AI to present you with interview questions by telling it what kind of job you are applying for. Remember that the recruiter is not looking for the “right” answers, but to find out whether you are suitable for the job and whether the job is suitable for you.
