Tips for your first day in a new job
The first day in a new job can be nerve-wracking. But with good preparation, you can start your new career smoothly and with confidence. Read our tips below and use the checklist to make sure you get off to a good start!
Before your first working day
Check your work contract and orientation information. Make sure you know your working hours, the location of the job and other practical information.
Ensure you know what to bring with you. Do you need ID, safety equipment or workwear? If you’re in doubt, please ask your contact person.
Find the best route. Make sure you know where the workplace is located and allow enough time for commuting.
Download the Wulff Works app. If you encounter any issues, please let your contact person know.
On your first day at work
Arrive on time. It’s better to be a little early than late. This helps you give a good first impression!
Sign in with the right person. Find out who you need to report to when you arrive at work.
Listen and ask. The orientation is an important part of your working day. If in doubt, feel free to ask.
Get to know your colleagues. A tight working community makes work more enjoyable. By introducing yourself in an active manner, you give a good impression of yourself.
During the first few weeks
Keep in touch with your Wulff Works contact person. If something is on your mind, you can always ask for advice.
Provide us feedback on the orientation. If something was unclear, let us know. It helps both you and future employees.
Remember! Learning a new job takes time, and no one expects you to know everything straight away. Stay positive and ask for help when needed! Everyone has started from where you are now.

FAQ
We have several pay periods. We’ll inform you on the exact pay dates when concluding the employment contract. With us, you don’t need to worry about not getting paid on time. If you think there’s been an error in your pay, please let your contact person know via the app or by calling us, and we’ll sort it out.
No need to worry about that! We get the taxpayer’s cards directly from the Tax Administration. If for any reason we cannot obtain your taxpayer’s card directly from them, we will let you know.
Shifts depend on the job. Some roles have regular shifts, whereas on-demand work allows you to choose shifts that suit you best. As shifts for the job you’ve been employed in become available, you can pick them up on the Wulff Works mobile app.
Yes! Employers provide an orientation in the actual job, and we make sure you have all the information you need before your first day on the job.
Please call your contact person at Wulff Works. They’ll guide you and give you further details on occupational health services in case you’ve forgotten what you were told in the initial orientation. Please remember to also let your employer know about your unavailability before the start of your shift.
